HAZLEWOOD, CUMMINS STRUCK TWO CRUCIAL BLOWS AS AUSTRALIA GOES INTO THE FINAL DAY NEEDING 8 WICKETS TO WIN THE PINK TEST

Cameron Green scoring his maiden Test half century

The fielding woes continues as India started the 4th Day with Hanuma Vihari spilling a rather simple chance presented by Labuschagne of Bumrah in the second ball of the day. The storyline could have been different, but now Australia has given a huge 407 runs target to chase for the Indian team. Starting the day at 103/2, ace batsmen, Marnus Labuschagne and Steve Smith continued their good run from the first innings pilling on another century stand for the 3rd wicket before Marnus got dismissed by a fine catch by Wriddhiman Saha down the leg side of Saini after a fine knock of 73 runs. Wade followed soon nicking one to Saha of Saini scoring just 4 runs of 11 balls. Smith went on to score 81. Australia went on to declare at the score of 312/6 after Cameron Green got dismissed for a solid 84. Green brought up his maiden half century in Test Cricket.

Meanwhile the racial comments continued from the stands to the Indian players as we saw, Mohammed Siraj bringing the issue once again to the match officials. The SCG authorities had to ask six supporters to leave the ground. Cricket Australia later an official statement stating their zero tolerance towards the comments and assured a lengthy ban once the perpetrators are identified.

Cummins celebrates Rohit Sharma's wicket

Chasing 409, the Indian openers, Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma was again able to give a solid start with a 71 run partnership. Gill was dismissed by Hazlewood getting the outside edge through to the skipper, Tim Paine scoring 31 runs of 64 balls. Rohit went on to score his half century before pulling one straight down to the deep square leg fielder off Pat Cummins, departing for a well made 52 of 98 balls. Pujara and Rahana saw through the last few overs of the day at 98/2 needing another 309 runs to win on the 5th Day in a pitch which has not yet shown any demons in it. It will be interesting to see the approach of the Indians coming out tomorrow as we have to wait and watch if they are going for the win or a draw. India has a slight disadvantage with Jadeja not able to bat because of injury, they will be going in with one batsman short.

KKR - Team Overview, IPL 2025 Season

KKR – Team Overview, IPL 2025 Season The three times IPL winners and the current defending champions are again one of the teams to watch out for in the upcoming Tata IPL, season 18. As the team management successfully retained most of their core, they still had to let go two of their heavy weights, Sreyas Iyer and Mitchelle Starc during the mega auction. But, overall the team looks well balanced and destructive in their own way.   With the experience of Ajinkya Rahane leading the side with the assistance of veteran Chandrakant Pandit as a head coach, the team already has a solid XI and the bench strength also looks solid too. Looks to have covered all bases except the impact of Mitchelle Starc.   Lets have a look at how the playing XI along with the impact player is looking like, Yes, the combination may vary depe...

Can Harshal Patel solve RCB’s death bowling woes?

Harshal Patel during his 5/27 against Mumbai Indians In the opening match of the fourteenth season of the Indian Premier League, Harshal Patel named himself in the record books by claiming the first five wicket haul against Mumbai Indians. The medium pacer was earlier traded by RCB from Delhi Capitals before the auctions. One of the most destructive batting units across all IPL seasons, RCB could still awaits their first ever IPL title win. One of the main reason being, they have been constantly falling apart with their death bowling efforts. Harshal, though not into the express pace category but he has a variety of well disguised slower balls, which makes him difficult to pick during the slog overs when the batting teams are on the attack. In his todays efforts of 5/27, he managed to knock off the most feared power hitting middle order accounting for the wickets of Hardik Pandya, Ishan Kishan, Keiron Pollard, Krunal Pandya and Trent Boult in his 4 overs quota restricting Mumbai ...

Cricket : A Slow Game... Is It?

Cricket : A slow game… is it?         By Sayandeep Dutta Cricket is a very slow game. A verdict that is universally accepted which I beg to differ with. According to me there are two aspects of the game, one is mental and the other one is the physical aspect. F1 being one of the fastest sports of the world along with bike racing and some other forms of racing and if we want to take the horse power away, some of the fastest include ice hockey, basketball, table tennis, etc. When we are looking at sports only as a physical activity then yes, these are regarded as the fastest sports in the world. If we divert our mind to individual sports we can see that it is all about the mind-set of the sportsperson. It is all about taking decisions. It is all about fraction of a second which separates the best from the rest. It is all about taking the right decision at the right time, and the right time only waits for a fraction of a second. Every time a...
